This candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of customer service, clerical, and administrative duties.

Job Description:

  • Supervise additional staff members assisting in all survey assignments, including: ALTA/ACSM land title surveys, plats of highway, route surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and transportation projects with IDOT/ISTHA/CDOT and other DOTs
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely fashion, be diligent in field procedures, and maintain company standards at all times
  • Review and follow project scope, keeping all project information and electronic files well organized Adhere to QA/QC and notetaking procedures to maintain office and field project materials
  • Read and comprehend construction plans for construction layout
  • Follow instructions/work orders from project managers

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of survey crew chief experience, including ALTA and sectional boundary survey
  • Proficiency with Trimble and Leica GPS, Trimble Robotic Total Station (S6), Trimble (TSC3) and TDS Ranger Data Collectors
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong math skills
  • Strong verbal/communication skills and computer skills

  • Proficient with IDOT standards/ code lists and survey requirements

Qualifications

  • INDOT Site Manager Certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of construction inspection in roadway or bridges projects, preferably with INDOT
  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • Working Knowledge of INDOT Road and Bridge Specifications, Road and Bridge Standards, Construction Manual and Inspector Manual
  • Proficient in applying standard testing techniques and procedures for the verification of material
  • Ability to read and interpret complex plans, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Ability to multitask on fast – paced construction projects
  • Ability to assist to prepare final construction documents for project close- out
