You will have the opportunity to be involved with a variety of planning and design projects including freeways, urban and rural roadways and multi-use paths. Responsibilities include project management and technical design. Position requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience with roadway design and project management
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois or able to obtain in 3 months
  • Previous experience on DOT projects (IDOT experience a plus)
  • Working knowledge with MicroStation/Inroads and/or Civil 3D

Civil Transportation Engineer – Multiple Locations

Quigg Engineering is looking for a Civil Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to add to our team.   Quigg Engineering, founded in 2006, is a dynamic, multi-disciplined Civil Engineering firm providing outstanding services throughout Illinois, central Florida, Missouri, and Iowa. Our clients include State Departments of Transportation, Toll Authorities, Local Agencies, and private developers.

This candidate may report to our Springfield, IL office, East Peoria, IL office, St. Louis, MO office or Lakeland, FL office.

Ideal candidates have the following qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with professional licensure in the State of Illinois, Missouri or Florida, or the ability to obtain professional licensure within 6 months.
  • 5-15 years of experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience working on IDOT/MoDOT/FDOT and/or Tollway projects is preferred.
  • Previous Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills as the position requires extensive coordination/communication with clients and co-workers.
  • Working knowledge of Microstation and Geopak and have experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with traffic modeling software programs such as Highway Capacity Software (HCS), SYNCHRO/SIMTRAFFIC, and/or Vissim, is highly preferred.

Successful candidates will gain experience and technical leadership skills in Preliminary Design Studies, Design & Plan Preparation, Traffic Management and Analyses, Site Development & Permitting, and/or Construction Inspection/Construction Management.

Specialization is preferred in one or more of the following areas:

Professional Land Surveyor – Multiple Locations

Quigg Engineering is experiencing growth and is seeking candidates for a Professional Land Surveyor or SIT with the ability to be licensed within a year. Our survey department provides high-quality services with a team experienced in traditional methods along with the latest surveying technologies. Quigg is a dynamic, multi-disciplined Engineering and Survey firm providing outstanding services throughout Illinois, central Florida, Missouri, and Iowa. Candidates may report to our Joliet, IL or St. Louis, MO office.

Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of proposals/estimates, searching record documents to obtain boundary/parcel information, coordinating surveys, preparation of data and creation of survey drawings/plats for topographic and boundary surveys , producing final/submittal documents for the Survey Department and when applicable, coordinate findings with the Engineering Department and assist, train, and supervise survey staff as needed. Some overnight travel is required.

Projects include Construction Layout, ALTA, Boundary & Right-of-Way surveys, Surveys for Control Establishment, Topographic Surveys, Hydrographic Surveys, Railway & Bridge Surveys and Right-of-Way & Easements Plat Preparation.

Ideal candidates have the following qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience
  • Experience with GPS and Robotic Survey Equipment. High definition scanning experience a plus.
  • Associate’s Degree in surveying or an SIT license. Professional Land Surveyor in Illinois or Missouri highly desirable.
  • Transportation survey experience. Knowledge of IDOT or MoDOT requirements a plus.
  • Experience with Microstation and Geopak. Experience with Geopak/OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid driver’s license
